Brian is currently a Kinesiology Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford. He earned his Masters and Bachelor degrees from the University of British Columbia. Brian’s areas of concentration are exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, injury and management, and exercise testing and prescription.  He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through CSEP. Additionally Brian is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSEP- Certified Personal Trainer, Original Strength Clinician, CHEK Practitioner Level 2: Integrative Health Coach, Functional Movement Screen Level 1 trainer, Champion Performance Specialist, Level 2 Applied Health and Human Performance Specialist, NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist and Somatic Movement Coach. Brian has also completed four modules of clinical somatic education with Essential Somatics. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Lifestyle Medicine Coaching at LPU. Brian’s clientele has ranged from post-rehabilitation to recreational and varsity athletes and everything in between. Besides teaching students and training clients, he currently authors manuals and articles. He has contributed to chapters in Human Kinetics Publisher’s book Foundations of Professional Personal Training (Editions 1-3), Functional Fitness Chapter in Human Kinetics’ Physical and Health Education in Canada Textbook, Movement Impairment Chapter in CFES Personal Trainer Manual and 3 chapters in CSEP’s resource manual for the Certified Personal Trainer. Brian is passionate about spreading the word on the benefits of physical activity for health, performance, and injury prevention.
